THE WATCH "YELLOW show 2012"

From February 2012 we'll be heading out from Italy and right across Europe with our brand new "Yellow Show" which will feature the usual mix of Genesis classics and our very own material.

This particular show will focus on 1971's Nursery Cryme in its entirety with the addition of some rarely played material from 1976, which by all reckonings was a pretty terrific year for Genesis.

The Watch will try and shake the formula up a bit this time by playing post Gabriel era Genesis with the some tracks from the wonderful Wind and Wuthering album and a couple from A Trick of The Tail.

Ever wonder what the Genesis songs would have sounded like had Peter not left the band way back then? Simone's unique "gabrielesque" voice will let you discover it, so wonder no more..

What's more the instrumentation will be totally early '70s and the sound is sure to be different but we guess there's only one way of knowing what it will sound like...

All of this with highlights from the band's smash hit last albums from Vacuum to Timeless.This is one show no one will want to miss!!!

Hi everybody,
and thanks for getting in touch so frequently, asking for more every time...
we had a great summer, we had rest and had the chance to work on some logistic matters, among which buying a new van for the band... we know the red german mercedes will miss us so much.. hehe.. but this time a good mechanic wasn't enough..

We are looking forward to being on the road again, in Italy in the wonderful Veneto region and then on the other side of the ocean, USA and Canada !!
As you can see after the USA-Canada tour we will be over Europe again for the very last performances of the "Green show" and then we will quit it, so come to see our last concerts ..

The Watch - in the middle of the tour

Hi everybody,

a long time since the last update of this blog... Facebook fault ! hehehe... but it's nice to be here just to tell you how much we're enjoying this tour ... all the gigs are great and it's really a great experience to hear and read all the feedbacks you are leaving... so please don't stop hehe... great reward for us.

We're on the verge of playing in Goteborg on friday and Tallin and saturday, a quick return back home and then England again.. and then France and Spain !! One of the very first time in Spain... that's great.

But tomorrow, before we leave we'll have a quick lunch with one of our all time heroes: Mr Steve Hackett. Simone and Giorgio will lead him to a nice restaurant and they will have food all together... Steve is such a nice and gentle man.. Steve will then perform in Milan a full band concert.

Giorgio has also taken part to John Hackett and Nick Magnus new album, another great experience for him !

So hope to meet you on the road, we'll have already great news about summer with some gigs in Italy and in autumn the band will hit USA and Canada again ! But will tell you more later..

Release date for new album "Timeless"

Hi there,

the new album "Timeless" will be released on monday 21st Feb !!

Barely one year after "Planet Earth" comes "Timeless", the brand new studio album from The Watch.
Hot off an extensive tour in 2010 which touched most of Europe and the USA and Canada, ("The Watch plays Genesis") in which the band merged their own music with some Genesis classics for a unique result that has been defined as a must also for all Genesis fans, The Watch are back with a new studio breakthrough: borrowing themes from Genesis's very first album "From Genesis to Revelation" and re-shaping them to create brand new songs bound to become classics. Keeping the original musical flavour that allowed the very young members of Genesis to prove their talent to the world, but adding the typical musical flair and energy people know and love from The Watch.

The result is a 10 song album, 7 original songs and 3 reinterpretations of very early '69 - '70 Genesis tracks. On one of these John Hackett, Genesis's guitarst brother, joins the band with his flute and another one is a great performance of Genesis's Stagnation, taken from the 2010 shows giving newcomers an idea of how incredible and "timeless" that music and this band can sound when performing Genesis. Don't take our word for it! It has to be heard to be believed!

Here we are, back from USA and Canada where we had such a great time !

Thanks to all who showed up and we are looking forward to be back there again.. it seems next year same period.. al the gigs were fantastic and we enjoyed our performances so much.

Now we will play in Europe some gigs 'till first days of december, take a look at our schedule. BTW, the gig in Norwich at Brickmakers is at B2 venue www.b2venue.com . Brickmakers has two venues and we will play at B2. Like for all the other UK gigs, John Hackett and Nick Magnus will join us, so we hope to get a warm welcome, it's the first time we play in these venues and we're very excited..

Tomorrow we will play at small and cozy Club Giardino that is sold out so far and we probably come back there in december, we'll keep you updated on it.

Soon we will post all the gigs of the "Green show" - Selling England by the Pound whole album and much more, on the portal, so please visit us frequently..

Hi !

Back from summer days, the band is hardly working on the new album. There
will be 11 track on it, 4 of them will be covers taken from "From Genesis
to Revelation" period and 'though the whole album is inspered by those very
nice and delicate days, you will find The Watch typical sound in all
original compositions and all the tracks will sound very powerful or
sometimes soft, with the usual care for melodies the band is famous for..
we really hope to let you hear a few excerpts soon, hopefully before the
US-Canada tour.

Days are passing very fast and october is approaching, this means the band
to come back on stage for two great festivals in belgium and UK, Prog
Resiste and Summer's end. Moreover we all are looking forward to get to the
US and Canada for the first extensive tour for the band in those countries,
we're all very excited !

Hi there,

here we go with some news from The Watch camp.. the band is fully working on the new album, due for January 2011, more infos and perhaps an audio snippet in the future.. the album will be a rivisiting of Genesis '69 "From genesis to revelation" album, with a lot of new parts and brand new arrangements in a pure The Watch style. Guys are very proud of what is coming out but as usual, very into the project and fully working on it when not away for live performances.

Here you can see The Watch live in Rome, a week ago, @ Parco degli acquedotti, after the gig the guys are toasting Giorgio's birthday.

AFTER THE BIG SUCCESS OF "PLANET EARH?" : NEW STUDIO ALBUM DUE FOR JANUARY 2011

Hi everybody,
another short update. First of all, our best summer whishes to everyone.

Then a big thank you to all who showed up in Bilston, UK... we've had a great time !

The Watch are still very busy, on the live side before the summer break, the band will play at the ex-prog festival, headlining sunday playing after Tony Levin. But the big announcement is about a new studio album, that will be released in January 2011, we are all very excited !!

It will be a new experiment: The Watch have taken some very old GENESIS songs from '69 and '70, tracks From Genesis to Revelation period and turned them into some The Watch unique style tunes, riarranging and adding brand new parts, giving these wonderful very early days compositions a new life..!!

This is the new challange for the band and these days some drums recording sessions have already taken place at TW studio in Milan.

Big news about this project still have to be revealed, so please stay tuned, it's an honour that after the big success of Planet Earth ? that's still growing, we are able to give you another studio album in a reasonable time...

Hi everybody,
we would like to thank all the people who showed up at these last gigs...
it's been great once again and a pleasure to spend a night together with the music we all love.

We proudly will perform at the Genesis event France this coming week end, we'll meet our friends John and Nick and it'll be a great pleasure to meet Steve as well... John will join us on stage on some songs!

We are also proud to be in Bavaria for the first time, after the beauty of Provence last week, another wonderful area like Bavaria on our gig list... !!

Then we'll get to the north, Finland and Estonia... really looking forward to it !!

After a gig in Stuttgard, where we were forced to cancel a previous show, we'll get to the UK but before we'll play in Arlon, Belgium, where we hope to give the chance to all who were forced to stay out of the venue in Mons, due to a quick sold out after tickets were put on sale, to attend the show... we'll wait for you there !!

here we go with some news after this Easter break:

- the gig at NED Montreux has been postponed to an unknown date. This due to some organizer reasons out of our control, so it came in fast and has gone out soon...

- NEW gig: Exprog - Mogliano Veneto - Italia first edition of this Expo prog music oriented and dedicated, big bands will play there. The Watch will play there on sunday June 27th. Artists scheduled for the day: The Watch, Tony Levin.

- NEW gig: 12th June - Entrepot - Arlon, Belgium

Hi everybody,

we'd like to whish you a relaxing time these Easter days, we'll take a few days off after this first part of the tour.. 'though we're looking forward to the second one already ! Our staff is working on some dates in the US and Canada this next autumn, we really hope this will happen and hopefully we'll be able to announce them soon to all our faithful supporters on the other side of the Atlantic...

we'll be also in Europe again in October and November, touching Germany, Italy and the UK again... stay tuned for details.. there might also be a nice studio surprise, to be brought to you during the next year new show tour, we'll hope there's time enough to realize it..

first of all we would like to say thanks to all the people who showed up to our last gigs... we really had a great time !

Sorry to all those who couldn't find the ticket for the Mons - Belgium - gig.. it was sold out since January and the venue was really packed. But you can bet we'll be back soon !! so keep always an eye on the portal..

Sorry for the sudden cancellation of the gig in Stuttgart, Simone was really KO after a few days of high fever.. now he's much better and almost ready for the next gigs...the gig in Stuttgart is postponed at Sunday 30th May in the same place, the Zwoelfzehn club

Be prepared for a full The Watch activity this next autumn, The Watch will take part at two festivals in the UK and Belgium, and many other gigs will be planned soon...

- we are working on chances to bring the new show in the USA and CANADA in October and John Hackett and Nick Magnus will be among us again !!! Due to high demand from the US and Montreal area we are doing our best to reach you guys at the other side of the pond, so please keep an eye on the Portal and hopefully there will be good news about it !!!

Hi everybody !
We'd like to say thank you to all who showed up at our gigs! We're having such a great time and night after night the feedback you are giving us is superb...

the 3 italian gigs were very good, grazie a tutti per averci accolto in quel modo! As you know we had John Hackett and Nick Magnus playing with us, their show is great and we spent a wonderful time together...

the UK gigs have been great too ! Our first time in Scotland has been impressive for us, how many sympathetic people we've met there.... and the Ferry is a nice and particular venue.. we're looking forward to be back there asap !

CRS gig was really special ! We've had the huge pleasure to meet John's brother Steve Hackett. It's been such an unexpected surprise for us, and he performed a couple of numbers with John and Nick and then Giorgio was invited on stage too, to perform Jacuzzi with them... no need to say how Giorgio was excited about that !!! The atmosphere was so intimate, like to be in a family... of 200 members..

Steve attended the whole gig and after it he reached us in the dressing room, having really nice words for what and how we played our setilist ! You can be sure it's been a great reward for a non-tribute band like us, believing so much in what we do with Genesis material along with our own music.

We'd really like to say thanks to John and Nick for our time together... we've enjoyed it immensely !

Thanks to Steve Hackett for the big surprise in Rotherham and for such an encouragement from his side !

We are so happy to finally annouce that our new album "Planet Earth ?" will be released soon. We are so proud of the result and we consider it one of the best release of our musical career. We have tried to have just beautiful songs and we think that all the 7 tracks could be defined simple enough to let you experience deep musical feelings at the very first listening, particular enough to let you discover interesting melodies and new musical nuances every time you play it.

Hi there,
just a short update about the new album...the title will probably be "Planet Earth ? "

We are mixing these days all the 7 tracks at TW studio under the snow...

we are so proud of what is coming out and of course impatient to let all our Facebook/Portal friends have a listen.

We don't want to write much about it now but we are extremely happy with melodies, moods and atmospheres in it.

Some little excerpts might be our new year gift (hopefully deadlines will be respected hehe..) so please stay tuned!!

here there are some news about the Blue show tour - 3rd update, below. You can book your tickets, click on the button "Tour 2010".

To all kind persons who wrote us for infos about The Peel gig in London, we must say that it won't take place in february, we don't know when we will play there.

Hey, back home safely from the UK where we had such a great time ! Really thanks for the warm welcome, we enjoyed the evening SO MUCH... what an audience!!
We hope to be back to the Robin soon!

So the last gig of the Nursery Cryme show has gone... we'll be totally focused on the new album now, commencing some mellotron sessions tomorrow, we'll have you get a feedback on what we're up to next weeks.

Hi there,
how are you ?? We are all fine! This update is mainly to annouce some new dates of the Blue show tour 2010 but also to thanks you all for your kind support during 2009!

Infact on sunday we will play at the Robin - Wolverhampton UK and it will be the last gig of the 2009 show ... sigh... there are songs that we won't play again for many time...
it's been wonderful to share musical feelings with so many people, like a big family we had fun together with the music we all love... thanks for giving us your warmth, such a great pleasure for us. Thanks also for supporting so much our own music!

We are currently still working on the new album (a long path as usual) no need to say that we are extremely happy about the result and hope to post some sketches within the end of november, just to make your mind up on it... comments will be very welcome.
Of course we're hardly working on the new Blue show 2010... we're really looking forward to starting the '10 tour and hopefully meeting you all and friends around Europe..!!

THE WATCH plays GENESIS - BLUE SHOW

Here we are finally, presenting the new show that will be performed over Europe in 2010.

It's a show based on the FOXTROT album, the masterpiece released in '72. The band will perform the whole album, every single track of it, plus many many other surprises... infact you will be leaded through the world of GENESIS and their the very first years production, like only The Watch can do. You will discover tracks old versions (i.e. you will taste some old spots in TW Anyway) and much much more... a COMPLETELY NEW show in which you can find some The Watch compositions too of course..

The new album from The Watch will be available from the very first show of the tour.

Hi theeere!

hope you all had a nice summer time..

the guys from the band took some days off but are back to work again now. We will update the portal frequently in these days as many things are rolling up currently.
First of all, the recordings of the NEW ALBUM will start on 28 September with drums sessions in Milan!

Last days have seen Marco and Simone working on drums parts and in this moment only one song is missing to complete the whole drums parts scenary.
We are all very enthusiast about the new songs that seem to be in the pure, classic The Watch style, with stunning melodies and armonies. We don't know anything yet about the title and lyrics, that will be mainly by Antonio De Sarno as usual.

In the next updates we will talk also about the NEW SHOW 2010, called "The Watch plays Genesis - Blue show"... it will be a super show where the band will perform the whole, complete FOXTROT album... and much much more...

Summertime

Hi there,
a short update to say thanks for the wonderful and warm welcome in Belgium last friday, great party !! We enjoyed this small and intimate atmosphere a lot and the setting has been so nice... thank you.

Summer is here and the band is fully working on new songs for the new album, just two weeks of holidays for the guys in order to have things ready very soon... a long path as usual but the sureness of another great album from The Watch, we are all very excited about it. Will tell you more about it.

We all whish you a pleasent summer, a restfull and relaxing time for all. In order to be ready for the new show and the new album in 2010!!!

And for the English: great news concerning the gigs in November and new gigs in December in old mother England!

Some news from our camp.
These days the guys are working on some new music and are planning the new show that will be played during 2010 tour.
In the next update we will give more precise infos about it.
We are all very excited about the close future, hopefully we will be able to have new original songs soon and the new shows in 2010 will be really special. There's also a big surprise, The Watch will perform again with John Hackett and Nick Magnus during some gigs next winter, we'll give further details about it: it's a great joy for us, really proud of it!

So keep an eye on this portal for some news soon and thanks for your support!

A trip to Canada

here we are, back from Canada. We had a great time in Canada and thanks for the wonderful moments you gave us. We met old time supporters and many new ones... wow... we had a great help from many people and all the organizers were so kind with us. As for the sold out in Quebec City we really hope to be back again soon and for all kind supporters who ask us for a spot in Montreal, next time we will be there, promised!!
For all who ask about our new music: we are working on it and we hope to have a new album within 2010!
A DVD instead is not on our schedule... so please just show up at the gigs and catch the act!

We'd just want say thank you to John Hackett for having joined us on stage in Remscheid at the Steve Hackett event.
It's been something special for us, thanks John!

We had a great time the whole day, once again feeling like in a big family. Organization was perfect and all the guys involved so kind with us.
Steve has been extremely gentle with us, we are pleased he called our gig a wonderful and powerful performance.. great moments indeed!!

Nick was great too and we enjoyed the duo performance with John sooo much..

After that magic friday, we moved to Uden in Holland, for the De Pul gig. Another fantastic night, great audience making us feeling in a wide family of old style prog lovers... an evening of joy.. thanks to everyone who showed up!!

The gig at the Spirit has been sooo nice. The venue was packed and the audience welcome simply hot!! We also tasted a special cake, take a look at "The Watch special cake"... nice looking and really tasty!! Thanks Papy for your thought, so kind from you...

We have some work to do these current days, mainly on technicals details for the Canadian shows and then take a break for Easter holidays (sleeep)

There will be more news coming soon and new dates to be announced.

THE WATCH line up:

It's our great pleasure to welcome Mr Guglielmo Mariotti to The Watch family: from Rome, he played in several progressive acts and soon his talent fits in perfectly The Watch new show and own music. The Watch is a family and Gugli's bass sound, guitars and bass pedals are now a part of our sound too.

Moreover, we'll have Mr Valerio De Vittorio behind the Hammond on several shows, who will take it in turns with Fabio on keyboards.
Vale has already carried on the keys job on some early 2008 shows, really doing a huge work.

The polish experience has been very nice, thanks to all who showed up!

We are really looking forward to be over there again... many thanks to all polish supporters!

THE WATCH will release a live album, so here it comes our first live album !! It will be released in a few weeks all over the world, as at TW Studio both Simones are working on the mixing right now. It will be available in advance at the november gigs.

Here it is the song list:
1. Sound of Sirence ...big live impact on this number
2. Shining bald Heads ...a classic from the band, with a wonderful final solo from Giorgio Gabriel
3. Berlin, 1936 ...this song gains so much power on live, one of the best band's live numbers indeed
4. The Fisherman ...one of the first classics, signed by Simone Rossetti. A great live new version
5. Goddess ...to tell it in the same words of a friend of us from London: no, it's not Deep Purple on it, it's The Watch.. hehe..
6. Twilight Alehouse/Another life ...a super meadley between an old Genesis single from 1972 and The Watch Another life
7. DNAlien ...it's been the closing song on some of 2008 gigs, ...mellotron and hammond scream on it
8. Riding the Elephant ..a live version of one the beloved band's ballads, with a new final

It has been a really busy moment for the whole The Watch camp, each one of us working on different matters. And here there are the last news. First of all The Watch will play once again with the canadians The Musical Box on the following dates:
1. wed 5 Nov - Palabam , Mantova I
2. sat 8 Nov - Granteatro, Roma I
In those occasions some excerpts from all the three albums will be played.

Another great news is related to a special show in MILAN, our home town, on thursday the 4th of December at Spazio Aurora, Rozzano (Milano - 2 Kms far from the Forum Assago). More details about this event will follow soon.

Good news also for our kind Canadians supporters that are e-mailing us and asking for more shows in their wonderful (and wide!... hehe :-) country. Guys, stay tuned !! The gig list has been updated.

Rollin' again.

After a hot summer made of sea air, water, seagulls, sun, sand... and music, The Watch are rollin' again. This is a very busy period for the band hence will follow some news sections in the next days.

There are two big main news regarding concerts and new studio music. Infact there are three almost ready tracks, brand new songs that will be part of the new album. The guys are currently working on arrangements and one of them, for the half of it, will be played in the new show !!

The new show will be called "The Watch plays Nursery Cryme show... the show that Genesis preformed in Italy in 1972.. plus extras and bonus from early Foxtrot era...". There will be also some original bonus of course. !!!

This is the concert list, that is still growing up, so keep an eye on it and see if the band will come to your area. Some more news will follow soon and the gig list will be updated costantly, so please stay tuned. We are all looking forward to performing the new show and sharing it with you.
